Overview
Geeks on Site offers remote and onsite technical support across the U.S., providing affordable plans for services such as virus removal, hardware installation, computer repair, and data recovery. Customers can easily schedule visits with technicians in metropolitan areas. Despite past success, the client saw a downturn in traffic and revenue after relaunching their website. They sought our help for SEO and PPC marketing.
Discover how we helped restore their status as one of the top technology service and repair companies with our SEO and PPC strategies.
Problem
The client sought our help to restore pre-downturn organic traffic levels, stabilize revenue, and improve leads and conversions. They experienced a downturn in overall traffic and revenue in recent years. Their new website was expected to improve these metrics, but traffic dropped further post-relaunch. Additionally, they faced a challenge with Paid advertising, as Google Ads imposed a restriction on third-party computer repair ads.
Our audit identified optimization opportunities. The website had duplicate and unoptimized content, a suboptimal layout, omitted services on the homepage, and inconsistencies in page layout and content presentation.
The client’s priority included becoming a leading computer repair provider in-person and online, as well as installation services.

Solution
Search Engine Optimization
Our SEO audit showed multiple 404 (not found) pages. We also discovered that old high-traffic FAQ pages were redirected to other pages on the new website, and that the new website had only one FAQ page. We added unique, optimized, user-friendly FAQ sections to the service pages, as well as branded service type FAQs. We created a knowledge base with well-structured SEO-friendly content, and implemented a search feature for the FAQ page to enhance user experience and engagement.
The client requested help with conversion rate optimization (CRO) for their core service and PPC pages. We improved the service page copy and layout but also implemented forms across all of the service pages and blogs. Since the forms provide source URLs, this helps them track Organic ROI better for individual services and PPC ROI better for individual campaigns.

Development
The client requested our assistance with failed payment and other ecommerce tracking errors. Customers were receiving notices of insufficient funds, try again later, do not honor, and generic decline messages when trying to checkout on the website. Our development team discovered that the website was using a Legacy Rest API, which was no longer supported by the payment processor. We updated the checkout process and updated the payment processor plugin to resolve the issue.
Link Building
We audited the brand’s backlinks, identifying links to missing pages and spammy links. We redirected 404 pages to active ones and requested the removal of spammy links. We also reviewed competitor links for outreach opportunities, securing new backlinks from high-authority sites and creating multiple business profile links. To improve page rankings and user navigation, we added several internal links.
Local Search Engine Optimization
The client requested our help with improving their local SEO pages with a nested format for their multiple locations and to link many of their services. W e included interlinking opportunities to help boost organic visibility as none of their competitors currently did this. We recommended updating the URL structure to match best SEO practices, unique copy and metadata suggestions, and re-optimizing the top-producing locations. We included CRO recommendations such as implementing a contact form on the location pages, customized CTAs, special offer listings, why choose us, trust and accreditation badges, and team information.

Pay Per Click (PPC)
We audited the brand’s Google Ads accounts for configuration errors. There was a GTM tag for the brand’s Adroll Ads account. We removed the incorrect code and integrated the correct Adroll code. The conversion tracking was not set up properly as it only tracked purchases, so we added the code to all the required pages to track everything correctly. We correctly set up conversion tracking to include form submissions, phone calls, and email clicks.
To enhance the performance of paid ads campaigns, we successfully linked the Google Business Profile (GBP) to the Google Ads account to pursue Local Service Ads (LSAs). Our team has helped the brand reclaim several of the brand’s GBPs which they had lost.
We worked to resolve multiple ad restriction issues. The most valuable “computer repair” terms were being rejected for us to be allowed to bid on due to restrictions in their industry, which heavily affected their paid ads revenue. We followed up with Google support to gain approval for using the keywords but they wouldn’t budge on using repair terms in the landing page copy. Our team was successful at resolving the disapproved ads by identifying the restrictions and updating the noindex PPC landing pages with alternate less specific terms like “tech services” and “computer”.
Results
After complying with Google’s policy, we created a separate landing page for computer repair services and successfully launched ad campaigns. Within the first year, the client has seen steady growth month over month. Cost per conversion dropped significantly while the overall number of conversions increased. For the camera install ad campaign, conversion increased by 50% and cost per click decreased by 2% within the first five months. Clicks increased within the second six-month period by 91.7% and conversions increased by 110.9%.
